The McBride School of Irish Dance and the East Bay Feis Committee are very pleased to announce that the 2014 East Bay Feis will be held on October 4 & 5, 2014 at the San Ramon Marriott.
Our goal is to open online registration at Feis Productions in June 2014 (www.feisinfo.com). We will post the Syllabus and Tentative Schedule at that time. We look forward to seeing you there! Ever wonder what Irish Dancing looked like in the day. Below you will find several YouTube clips of Irish dancing from 1928, 1926, and 1963. In the first clip, the dancers are performing the Fairy Reel, a 3 hand reel and an 2 hand jig. See if you can follow, as the older clips do not have sound. The Second clip is dancers competing at the 1926 All Ireland Competition. The final clip is of John Cullinane dancing a hard jig in 1963. Mr. Cullinane is revered as the most knowledgeable man in Irish Dance, and has written many books on the subject. One book he wrote even has Ann McBride in it.
